Horse Crafts: Carousel Horse Holder

Using wire, beads, and cardboard, you can create a little carousel picture holder like this!
Craft Supplies:
* Thick
copper (or other) wire; I used 16-guage
*Wire cutting/bending tool
* Cardboard or thick paper
* Two glass beads, one large and tall, the other round; both must fit
on wire
*Pencils & pens
Craft Directions:
Cut a length of the wire, about a foot long.
Draw
a carousel horse on the cardboard
(or use this printout for a guide).
Cut out the carousel horse, leaving an oval around it. Leave enough room
because next you need to punch two holes, one above, and one below, the
horse's body. Thread the wire through the holes. You can also decorate
the horse and add details before you string it.
Next, thread the beads on. Put the large bead on the bottom, and the small
one up top. The big bead will help keep the balance low.
Slide everything up so most of the wire is below, and about 4-5 inches
are above and the rest is below. You need more below because the base
has to be big to support it. Bend the wire below the large bead to the
side.
Bend the lower wire around into a spiral, and you can use the wire tool
to tightly spiral the very end of it.
Bend the upper part into a tighter spiral or series of loops; just something that will hold a picture or card between the wire.
This shows the finished craft. I added more color to the carousel horse, and filled in the pole above and below the body between the body and the wire. I also used a white pencil around the outside of the horse to lighten it up.
You can decorate your carousel horse however you'd like.
